Flash o'stash

I've got nothing to report yet on the job (and thanks, everyone, for all the good wishes) and no projects in the works that I haven't already gone over, so here are some pictures of my latest fabric acquisitions (which I purchased anyway, even though I bought fish, too).

Got some half-yards on sale from Sew Thankful.

And got this jumbo jelly roll (64 strips) off eBay. I have no idea what the fabric is, but surely I could make something fun and colorful out of it.

How do you handle ebay fabric buying? I get so overwhelmed, unless there is something very specific I'm looking for!

Hi lo. If you're not sure whether or not the E-bay fabric is cotton, do a burn test. Make sure to burn over the sink or where you can drop it easily and smother it in water! Just clip a corner off, burn it (I often use tweezers to hold it), blow out the flame and when cooled, feel the ash. Cotton will smear with no lumps. Poly has crispy edges and lumps. When cotton burns, it smells like burning hair or feathers. There, now ya know!

Wonderful fabrics! If you look around much on the internet, you should be able to find quite a few patterns (some free) for Jelly Roll cuts... Awesome colors! 8-)
