A Half-Assed Crappy Giveaway!
Husband is back at work and kids are at daycare/school, and I am relatively awake, if not completely caught up with everything that went to HELL while I was playing nursemaid. The windows still rattle all through the night from the percussion of three nasty coughs, and the toddler has decided she doesn't feel like falling asleep until 10 p.m. or so, but the snot wave has receded somewhat and I'm all about finding that ol' silver lining.
Since I beat the seriously astronomical odds and won a layer cake over at Confounded By Quilting, I realized I hadn't done a giveaway in a long time. Then I discovered that Sew Mama Sew is sponsoring a Giveaway Day, and I thought that would be a cool way to unload some of my crap - I mean, bestow upon my beloved readers some quilty goodness. Aw, hell - I'm unloading crap.
When my mom broke down her sewing room, she gave me what was left of her fabric. Unfortunately, my taste and my mother's do not exactly coincide. I tend to use a lot of bold colors and jewel tones, and I prefer large scale or modern, stylized prints. I've been hanging onto these for 8 months or so, and haven't touched a one, so I thought perhaps someone out there would like to have them.
Now here's where the half-assed and crappy part comes in: I have no idea how many fabrics there are, nor how big they are. I am assuming that most are at least the size of a fat quarter, but I think many are bigger. I do not know if they are "quilt shop quality." I am, however, certain that there are no hidden hypodermic needles or poisonous snakes. Hey, there's that silver lining again!
Deadline for entry is December 6 at midnight, EST. To win, leave a comment to this post, explaining why you want to win my crappy, half-assed giveaway, and the winner will be chosen at random and announced on December 7.
Good luck!
Hi Megan
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win your crappy give away--I won something from you last year and would like to add to it! Actually, I don't mind the colours at all and if I don't like a piece, I'll just share with some students! Here's hopin'
p.s. Glad you're recovering!!
Lurking Linda
ooh ooh! Pick Me! I have tons stash that will look good with yours! Besides, I can maybe offer up some of my own to some deserving peep or peeps. Glad you are up and running again. Take care, Tina in AZ
ReplyDeleteI would love to win your crap. Remember someones crap another's treasures.
ReplyDeletebecause your crap would fit in wonderfully with MY crap! the fun part is your crap is in different colors than my crap for the most part. finally figured out if i add enough different colors that don't go together, a small cosmic spark is born...forcing all the colors/patterns to play well with each other. oh, and the kid remarks that my scrap quilts are more like "crap quilts". she much prefers everything co-ordinated. must of gotten the wrong kid at the hospital.
ReplyDeleteI'm a crappy, half-assed quilter, so sounds like a perfect match.
ReplyDeleteOOOOOOOOOO! I can add your crap to my crap and become the Queen of Crap! I'm already collecting crappy blue jeans for my next recycled rag quilt. They are so much fun to make.
ReplyDeleteHi Megan
ReplyDeleteI actually do NOT want your crap as I have enough of my own and everyone else's in Umatilla County. But I thought I would take the opportunity to let you know that your post made me snort snot all over the monitor. Now I gotta clean it. LOL Have a great giveaway.
Carolyn
I would love to win someone else's crap. I have been taking crap from others for a good long time so why not from you too!!;) Seriously someone else's crap is my treasure!!
ReplyDeleteI can tell from the photos that some of it probably IS crap, but a lot of it looks just great! Plus, it all has the cachet of being from the collection of a published author, right?
ReplyDeleteI want to win because it's been a crappy day and Dec. 7 was my father's birthday. A good way to celebrate. he he he
ReplyDeletePlease throw me into the pot.
I would like to win the fabrics because I am on social security and I can't afford lots of fabrics but I love to sew every day.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win your crappy stuff! I will be donating some quilts for a raffle for a good cause. They don't care what kind of fabric I use!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win your half assed crappy giveaway because I am in need of other peoples crap.
ReplyDeletemy quilty treasures are all made from someone elses crap.
UM, pick me! Why? [pushes chair back and stands up] Hi, my name is Carrie and I am a fabricaholic. I have more fabrcc than I need - but how much is really "too much" :D
ReplyDeleteI'd like to win because I'm a crapoholic--oops--I mean a scrapoholic.
ReplyDeleteBecause I just want to WIN! :-p
ReplyDeleteI would love to win your half-assed crappy giveaway just to see what all is really there. I could probably match your pile of crap but I'm not organized enough to actually get it into a pile. I love to read your blog, it is so fun.
ReplyDeleteMegan,
ReplyDeleteI do believe I could have bitching good time tearing into that pile of crap. Some of best projects begin with crap.
Thanks for offering a chance at a giveaway!
Susan
Throwing my hands up to catch the "bouquet." I plan to make another Heartstrings donation quilt soon, and that fabric would make the string blocks all the more interesting! Lime green and purple? Heck yeah!
ReplyDeleteI want to win! To quote/paraphrase George Carlin on the difference between crap and stuff: My crap is stuff and your stuff is crap :-) I use fresh crap/stuff in I-spy and charity quilts.
ReplyDeleteIt would be fun to find out what you consider crap. LOL
ReplyDeleteOne mans crap is another mans treasure
ReplyDeleteI would love to win your crappy half-assed giveaway because it obviously needs someone who will stroke it and talk to it and make it feel needed. Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to win your crappy giveaway because I prefer to cut my fabrics up into very small pieces, so every color and pattern can blend. Also, I'm stash building, so I never say no to fabric!
ReplyDeleteI am not entering cause I told myself I couldn't enter any more contests until I have one of my own. And I haven't posted on my blog in two months! But your post just cracks me up!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm relatively new to your blog and a very big fan of crap, in general. Hubby will attest to this fact as I'm tryin' very hard to fill the entire house with as much crap as possible. Thanks for including me in this fantastic giveaway! Ahhh...what I could do with such lovely crap!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win your crap. It would go with the crap my mom gave me that is working its way into quilts. I actually like those colors. Hope everyone is totally healthy soon. Jill
ReplyDeleteLOL You crack me up. I love reading your blog. I don't want your crap, I've got plenty of my own, thank you very much.
ReplyDeletettfn :) Yuki
Hmm, the purple and lime would fit so nicely in my stash. I would be so grateful. I might even use it! May the crap come to me!
ReplyDeleteMy mom gave me most of her fabric stash this summer. And I am happy to say that even though alot of the fabric was not my style I used almost every inch of it. I would love to put your mothers stash to good use also.
ReplyDeleteWhat? You think I want that crap? Oh h -e - double hockeysticks, Okay enter me I can make something out of it.
ReplyDeleteLOL. I would love to win your giveaway.
Please let me give your crap a good home! I am a beginning quilter and make charity quilts and some to family. I would love to have some 'new' fabric!!!! Thanks for having your Half-A'd Crappy Giveaway, pick me!
ReplyDelete*hugs*
Jackie (at) jackiesue.co,
It would feel right at home with the rest of my crap fabric. And crap that's not fabric. And (occasionally) fabric that's not crap.
ReplyDeleteI need to have that crap! My husband and I share our basement - and his half (computer stuff) is gaining on my half (quilting, scrapbooking, other crafts) so the more I have, the more space I need - right?
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win your crappy half-assed giveaway because, honestly, I'm completely indiscriminate when it comes to fabric. Most of my stash comes from the remnants bin at the Walmart. It's unlikely that your crap is any crappier than my existing crap.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to hoard your crap!! I might share some of it with my friend who loves purples, but I'd keep the blue crap for myself. The rest I'd probably donate to the guild to add to their crap. So in essence, I'd just spread the crap all around!!
ReplyDeleteAck - people actually buy that crap? (I like the lime piece...)
ReplyDelete& thanks to that random guy who is trying to sell us crappy shoes!
If I win, send them to Andi - since she will use them for charity. (or anyone else who will use them for charity - I just recognized her face as I scrolled down the list of entrants.)
I would love to win because I think that although we may not see what that crappy fabric will turn into - it might turn into something fun and cool. I know that when I was given some a while ago I was not appreciative until I had the perfect use for it. Now I love my crappy stack.... it might take a while to be used but with time I will enjoy it all. :)
ReplyDeletesimply.simon.sisters(at)gmail(dot)com
I'm still building my own stash, so I would love to have your cast offs. Happy Holidays :)
ReplyDeleteeven a crappy giveaway is still a giveaway. i'll take it!
ReplyDeleteI could totally put those scraps to good use...and that bin looks a lot like my fabric selection right now!
ReplyDeleteFUNNY! I love it. I think I'm going to subscribe to you right now. :D
ReplyDeleteApparently your mother and I do have similar taste in fabric, which is why I'd love to win. :) Glad that your family is feeling better.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win your crappy giveaway, because how can anything so cool be crappy! I love working with other peoples cast offs!
ReplyDeleteThanks for being so generous! I've never won anything, though I've entered a ton of giveaways.
ReplyDeleteI see some beautiful Project Linus quilts in that stack of fabrics, so I would love to have them (provided there are no snakes included)!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win your scraps because I am working on a grandmother's flower garden quilt using scraps but I'm running low on scraps. (Yes, you can actually run low on scraps.)
ReplyDeleteWV=plose. As in "plose send me your scraps, thonks."
Because you made me laugh, and scraps are always good for something.
ReplyDeleteI've recently taken up sewing and this stuff would be a great start to my stash!! Lovely prize!! Thanks!
ReplyDeletechristinbanda at yahoo dot com
i love it all!!! pick me! i make lots of stuff with scraps! thanks :-)
ReplyDeleteMegan! i'd love to win your not-crappy give away! i'm a huge fan of hodge podge projects- i love sewing patchwork handbags, scrappy fabric belts, and small drawstring bags to put gifts in for friends. i'd be happy to give this giveaway to a good home! :) thanks for joining giveaway day!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty into this give-away. I really like the "grab-bag" feel of it, well - that and the brown fabric with purple flowers I can see hanging out in the tupper ware - love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun giveaway! Winning would be like finding a treasure chest- you don't know what's inside but it's got to be good!
ReplyDeleteI liked reading your blog post (just an fyi I guess). I would like to win your giveaway cause I would like to build up my fabric stash. I just recently started getting seriously into sewing and find myself on weekends aching to make something, but just don't have any good fabrics to work with. All my pretty fabrics are too small to use now. So hopefully your mom and I have similar tastes (at least some of the fabric in the picture looked good).
ReplyDeleteHi -- Love your attitude & can't afford to build a stash right now so anything for free would be great. Besides the surprise of it all is very intriguing.
ReplyDeleteCool crap!
ReplyDeletelevani77@hotmail.com
I like to work with scraps and unknowns. The more crappy and halfassed my supplies are, the more I display my awesomeness by creating something mindblowingly amazing.
ReplyDeletecorvus.melloriATgmailDOTcom
i'd love to win your crappy fabrics because some days that's exactly how i feel!
ReplyDeletegill x
I'm glad the snot wave has receded...thought for a bit there you might get stuck in a layer of green goo that would be permanent as it dried! I love half-assed giveaways......there's always the chance a real treasure could be lurking there. Besides, my tastes are quite eclectic, running from dark and subdued to loud and bold ;)
ReplyDeleteI think these colors look remarkably like spring: the brown of a witch hazel, purple of crocus and green of budding leaves. My 4 year old just decided that green is her new favorite color, lol. I would love to win your crap because we have gray winter days and I could use some cheer :)
ReplyDeletei can't say it better than Lesly did...
ReplyDelete"I'm a crappy, half-assed quilter, so sounds like a perfect match"
what's a girl to say??
I want to win your giveaway because those fabrics look great to me... I tend to like the little prints. And I always need more fabric. :)
ReplyDeletewould love to win.
ReplyDeleteme please, i love surprises
ReplyDeleteI would like to win your crappy stuff because one woman's trash is one woman's treasure! :D
ReplyDeleteI'm actually not needing to be entered in the giveaway, I just wanted to say that your post title made me spit out my coffee laughing! We quilters need more rude humor!!!
ReplyDeleteI want to win because I have very little stash and would love to add to it!
ReplyDeletethanks for the chance to win!
I'd love to win because I can never have too many fabrics! I make quilts for Project Linus and I see at least a couple of kid-friendly colors in there! I can use all the fabric I can get, I usually make scrappy strip quilts so that I can use up little dabs that I find at garage sales and such! :)
ReplyDeletei'd like to win your crappy, half-assed giveaway because there could be some treasure in there that you don't like, that i'll love! :)
ReplyDeleteEven though crappy, some of those are small scale prints- which I like. It was wonderful of you to post a giveaway given your recent state. Really, not so half-assed with actual follow through.
ReplyDeleteYour crappy, half-assed fabric would fit perfectly with the rest of my stash, leftovers that no one else wanted. Yup, I'm a scrap quilter.
ReplyDeleteBecause it's a surprise. I love surprises. Plus, I can always use more purple fabric.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win your crappy giveaway because it rocks, and I can never have too much fabric :)
ReplyDeleteThose scraps would be put to very good use in my up-coming scrappy baby quilt! Thanks for the wonderful giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI would love to take those off your hands! I see all fabric as having potential, you just need the right person/project to make it work.
ReplyDeleteI want to win because i want my fabric stash to grow and i need to make my mom a quilt and she loves that kind of fabric.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win you have some nice blue, purple and greens could make a wonderful quilt.
ReplyDeleteYou're a riot! :-D I'd love to win your giveaway. I don't have a very large stash and would love to add your "crap" to what I have so I can make a really colorful s-crappy quilt! ;-)
ReplyDeleteWell you have a cool name, for starters. Just saying. and i like fabric and am trying to build up my stash - that's why i wanna win! thanks girl!
ReplyDeletemegan.nadalet@gmail.com
Hi!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win your giveaway because my husband has put me on "fabric buying probation" even though he doesn't understand that I don't have enough.
Men.
patrick(dot)marybeth(at)gmail(dot)com
You make me laugh! From the little I can see, those fabrics aren't bad. I also like more modern bold prints, but for quilting and stuff, a lot of times I just need color variation, and the pattern somewhat disappears. Thanks for posting this giveaway!
ReplyDeletewell I love you honesty!! And I love you crap. Since I am new to this with small amount of money your crap will be of use here!!! I have a small stash from the last year of sewing!! I LOVE the color brown so most of my stuff has that!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen my mom gave up all her stuff from her sewing days she had bunches of that style of stuff and it made so much fun stuff as well. Besides, my husband has been out of work for a year and a half and I can't buy any stuff, crappy or otherwise, so it would be amazing to win. Thanks for the chance!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win! I just started quilting, so I'm stash building. Anything crappy or half-assed is welcome!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to win to help you out, of course! Why else? I hereby offer my services to help you rid your life of crap (with all due respect to your mother and her tastes) by taking said crap off your hands. Yes, I would do that for you. That's just the kind of person I am. You're welcome.
ReplyDeleteI want to win because you are choosing the winner on my birthday, which is also Pearl Harbor Day, a fact I am reminded of every year. Plus, I will be 41. So there. :)
ReplyDeleteI think that your giveaway fabrics are lovely even if they are not to your liking!
ReplyDeleteI'll take your crap and make it into something wonderful such as adding embellishments for some refashions.
ReplyDeleteGood Luck to All
I'd love to win your crappy giveaway so I can make some not so crappy bows!
ReplyDeleteshou.milk@gmail.com
hey, i love crap. i often refer to my craft room as my crap room!!
ReplyDeletethanks for the offer.
amber
I love half-assed crappy giveaways. They are the best kind. One man's trash, you know....
ReplyDeleteI'm new to this sewing thing and I need more stash!
Thanks for the giveaway.
Well, I'll give your stuff a nice home...I love s-crap quilts and blocks esp. I can't use language like you do, although I find myself THINKING language, but I just can't get it past my teeth! Hope everyone is on the mend...hope you don't pass the germs along in the fabrics ::) I don't want it!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat? Crap? Sounds like a giveaway right up my alley (if I had one in rural Mississippi)! Very happy to know that there are no hypodermics or snakes, (which unfortunately have turned up in rural Mississippi). I appreciate the chance to win, I'd love to start my own pile of crap with your crap. (Did that sound too gross? i hope it doen't take me out of the running...) \
ReplyDeletechelmert0927 at yahoo.com
Best half-assed giveaway ever! Love to win it :)
ReplyDeleteMy husband leave soon for a year in the middle east. Miltary wives have told me the best way to deal with a deployment this long is to stay busy. A friend of mine gave me a sewing machine and now I just need the supplies to keep busy with. Please pick me so I can keep busy and warm for the next year without my husband.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I want to win because I love that you call it a half-assed crappy give away. Second, I want to win because the colors look pretty good. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHi from another Marylander. I'd love to win your half-assed crappy giveaway, because from what I can see of your photos I like the fabrics your mom gave you! Since I'm fairly new to quilting any new fabrics are always welcome.
ReplyDeleteI love hoarding fabric! A bunch of my every growing and flowing stash (now stashed in the living room since my new baby just "needed" a nursery, pah!) and much of said stash came from MY mom! There is always going to be a use for something, some time, right?
ReplyDeleteI love a good surprise, and so I'd love to win your box of mystery scraps.
ReplyDeleteWOW - look at all the posts! COOL! All it takes is a giveaway to pull out the lurkers, eh Megan?
ReplyDeleteGreat "crappy" giveaway!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good haul to me.
Lol. I'm a poor college student with an unhealthy love for fabrics ... really, I'll take anything. Plus, I'm trying to put together a scrappy quilt for a friend (none of my friends are really picky) so I'm looking for a variety of prints and colors.
ReplyDeleteI read through your blog and must say its super amusing, and am looking forward to reading future posts. I hope to win your crappy giveaway because its not crappy at all- when you have a husband in school and a 10 month old- that leaves very little money for buying fabric :) I'll take anything I can get! Thanks for giving away the crap you don't want :)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win! Most of my fabric stash is hand-me-down fabric (from grandma, mom, & step-mom-in-law). When most of what I make is for other people I can usually find something that someone likes. Thanks for the chance & hope everyone is feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteAlyssa
Thanks for a chance. i love crappy ass stuff@!
ReplyDeleteHmm, lets see, I guess I would love your momma stash to use for some blankies. I am trying to make a bunch (more then 3) of wonky log cabin quilts for the Appalachian kid quilt project and any color fabric will do just fine. Thanks for the opportunity Megan, hope you're feeling better at your house. Elaine in Texas
ReplyDeleteLove those purple and green fabrics. Please enter me in the draw.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays.
Jane
Well, I was really hoping for poisonous snakes, but I think I could still use these fabrics for patchwork without them!
ReplyDeleteOoh pick me I want them!!! I want to build my fabric stash as I am just starting to sew!
ReplyDeleteI need it just because whoever dies with the most fabric wins and I'm competitive.
ReplyDeleteI see lots of fairly solid color prints. I'm looking to make beanbags for the little to help them learn colors so I think some of those would be perfect.
ReplyDeletea_heart4home(at)yahoo(dot)com
I am always looking for new fabrics to add to my stash! I would love to win!
ReplyDeleteWhy do I want to win... because you can never have too much fabric. And it would also be great for my daughter to start her own fabric stash. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win become collecting fabric is my addiction, and I'm sure I can find something to do with your stash!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win because there's a nice piece of lime green in there.
ReplyDeleteHa Ha Ha Ha! I do have enough crap of my own, but I know there are LOTS of gals who would want yours! No sense trying to "church it up",(neatly fold it, array it out like a lovely fan, etc.) people want it anyway!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to win so I can cut the crap! Isn't that what all quilters do? Thanks for the giveaway! Poohbearnjit at yahoo dot com
ReplyDeleteI would love to win some fabric. I am trying to build a stash to start some quilts soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks
Megan
meganlfuchs at gmail dot com
I want to win because crappy and half-assed sometimes ends in creative genuis! There is always some crazy crafting with surprise supplies!
ReplyDeleteCool, a box of free fabric! Hey scraps are scraps, no matter where they come from or why you're giving them away. It's no diamond ring but I love scraps of any kind.
ReplyDeleteI'd make napkins from your stash! YAY!
ReplyDeleteI love stash fabric. I see some colors that would match what I have.
ReplyDeleteI would love your neglected fabrics! I like to piece together bags & pouches - perfect for scraps! Thanks for the giveaway. alusco(at)centurytel(dot)net
ReplyDeleteI would love to win your give away. The colors look very nice from the photos and I would be using them to blanket my family. (god I hate spending so much at the store for so little, don't you.) I'm a beginning quilter so as long as the fabric holds stitches I'm not picky at all.
ReplyDeleteBring on the crap! LOL
and I love the way you write. poking around now to see if I can get email updates from your blog. :D
Any fabric scraps are good fabric scraps! Thanks for the chance. :)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win, there is not much better then random unknown fabric!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
erikaahaj@verizon.net
LOL I don't want to win as much as I want to read more of your 'bitching"...way to funny..love it!! I say give it to the lady who is on social security or the ones using it for charity and hey If it's one of those you pick, email me..I'll send them some of my crappy fabric too...All in the season of giving!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win your half-assed crap because it would fit well with my half-assed crap :) kellysmith89@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteAhhh the joys of unknown fabric content . . .how can one resist the offering ;) When you combine them with cotton will one shrink and the other not? I think half the fun of sewing is just throwing stuff together and hope it works. Fabric stash additions are always welcome, crappy or not ;)
ReplyDeleteI want the crap because who couldn't use more fabric? And from the looks of it, most of those colors seem pretty ok. So...pick me, pick me!
ReplyDeleteI'd take it all, no worries about quality or quantity, I will take and use almost anything!
ReplyDeleteI want to win your giveaway because to me any fabric is more fabric than I have right now! I'm just getting started in sewing and quilting so I'd LOVE to win this! thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteGuess I have the same taste as your Mother and I would love to have what you don't want. I make charity quilts and they don't care what the fabric looks like, they are thrilled to get it. Love your honesty, you say what I would love to....hehehe
ReplyDeleteI'd like to win your fabric to help jump start a future in sewing! =) I'm just getting into this and think it would be neat to make a few things and right now I really selvedge pieces! Thanks for doing the giveaway! sales4mp@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteKeeping my fingers crossed for crap! I need to add to my sorry stash! :)
ReplyDeletemy family says I need a 12 step program and NOT more ummmm "stuff?" but my guild has a give away table and we do charity sewing...so if by chance...
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win your crappy giveaway because we, too, are infected with the crappy colds here. It would make me feel better - honest.
ReplyDeletevbjones51 (at) aol (dot) com
I recently started quilting, and haven't built up much fabric to use yet, so I would love this.
ReplyDeletersgrandinetti@yahoo(DOT)com
i'll still take it! happy giveaway day! here's mine http://www.simplymodernmom.com/2009/12/the-gift-box-a-giveaway/
ReplyDeleteYour trash my treasure, thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI make lots of quilts for Project Linus so I'm always looking for sources of scrap fabric for that perfect. I could really use those fabrics!
ReplyDeleteSue Cahill (sbonetsue at yahoo dot com)
Oooo, I love crap! Especially of the fabric variety. Pick me, pick me!
ReplyDeleteOh I'd love to win your (NOT) crappy giveaway. I bought my first quilt template last week (tumbler) and I love a scrap quilts best.
ReplyDeleteI love a bag of fabrics, regardless of not knowing exactly what's in it! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to win because that would be a great way for me to grow my tiny little stash! Also, because I went to Severna Park High... hence my finding your blog.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win such a treasure chest of this and that. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to win your crappy, half-assed giveaway because I don't have enough money to purchase my own crap; I am reduced to begging for your leftovers.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of leftovers, send in the hypodermic needles. At least when my friends ask if I'm getting poked it won't be such a lie.
I'm going to add myself as a stalker. I mean follower. same difference. fewer cats I think. not sure.
Hi Megan -- why me? Well I enjoy a challenge of trying to figure out what to do with disjointed fabrics. Surely they will go with something in my stash. If not they get cut up and go into string blocks. Will be watching!
ReplyDeleteHey I like to find the rose amongst the thorns. I would like to win this fabric and see if I can make something wonderful out of it. Thanks
ReplyDeleteWell, I want it because you are freaking hilarious and that alone deserves an entry! HA! And...quite frankly, I find that collecting other people's crap tends to be a hobby of mine that leads to GENIUS crafting. No...really...I couldn't make this stuff up. It's just the way it is. Plus...even ugly fabric can be cute if you tear it into strips and use it as ribbon on a scrapbook page...anything can happen, my friend. Anything can happen.
ReplyDeleteI planned to have something to give for Giveaway Day for months. Today I opened the computer to start setting mine up -- waaaay before the Sunday deadline. Then I realized that Giveaway was already going on. And had been. Since Wednesday. This is not half-assed, this is no-assed. (Or whole-assed? Which would it be?) I know... I'm just a jackass. For this reason, I need your crappy giveaway. You may be lacking in details about your items, but as a fabric junkie, your giveaway is perfect for me!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to enter! I've been meticulously going through and entering every one of these all day (because I'm a dork like that) and your blog has made me laugh the most. I'm subscribing!
-Mandi
lalestyleshop (at) gmail (dot) com
ahhh, I would like to win your crap just because I am really interested in those lime greens! (some of the rest of it does have me a little scared though, HA!)
ReplyDeleteI love fabric . period Thanks for the giveaway. Hope all is well in your family now! Merry CHRISTmas
ReplyDeleteDear Mz Bitchy I can honestly say I don't need any of your crap, however I feel the need to enter your crappy, half-assed giveaway to well have more crap that I won't sew for years because I forgot I had it.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win your giveaway - its always fun to get new fabric. If I win I'll be taking it to my kids at school. We are going to be making lap quilts for the local rest home after Christmas, and any fabric will be very, very welcomed.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway.
WOW- your difference in colors is my gain! What I don't use, I'll donate to a sewing program at the local high school. Everyone wins!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
~ Sydney
I am a bit of a half-asser myself. I'd love to have these fabrics because I make things out of scraps and leftovers, and these count. I live in rural Maine and no one wants bright colorful things like I do, so I need to start making them things out of slightly crappier fabric :P
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance at your giveaway!
I would love to win your giveaway because fabric is fabric and can always be used for something.... I do lots of swaps and I never have enough fabric to match interests. I think this would be a great addition to my stash! Thanks for what I think is a great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteHalf the stuff in my house is crap. This would fit right in.
ReplyDeletefeeling crappy...
ReplyDeletesnowing outside -
would love to win so i can have more crap!
To a child that has almost nothing, those 'crappy fabrics' made into a quilt, would elevate the fabrics to something special. I bet there are several quilts lurking there; or, at least, several quilt tops.
ReplyDeleteSorry you've had the epizootics; it's always a bad time to be sick.
I don't think is a crappy giveaway at all - I would love to have this fabric (whatever it is, however big the sizes!) for my nonexistent stash. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI just love crap that I can stuff into my sewing room until I figure out what to do with it. It will go great with all the other useless crap I have in there! I keep stumbling upon your blog kind of randomly. I love your sense of humor! It feels like fate, so I'm off to add myself as a follow. Thanks for the half-assed giveaway!

ReplyDeleteOh I'd love to win! I totally love your "attitude" that I've read so far on your blog. Loved it so much that I became a "follower." I can totally relate. I just smiled when I read your posts.
ReplyDeleteSo, it's because of your oh-so-sweet, cheerful and umm...not-bitchy attitude that I'd like to win. LOL! Thank so much!
I would love to win your crap, er...giveaway because I am working on clothes for the dolls I'm making for my kids for the holidays, which requires fabric. Plus, I spy purple. Can't go wrong with purple.
ReplyDeletebtw, I LOVE your headshot.
Out of the goodness of my heart, I'm entering your giveaway to help you unload some crap. :) I'm just that helpful! I actually like a lot of the colors, too, so I guess it's not THAT selfless of me. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm always willing to give a good home to half-assed crappy fabric, including the kind coming from a bitchy stitcher. I know I could either put it to good use or pass it along to other horders.
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm new to sewing and could use some scraps. Thanks for the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteI love random fabric stashes! Coming up with neat things to make out of all of the fabric makes me happy. Great crappy-giveaway!!

I would love to win your stash. There isn't such a thing as crappy fabric, you can always find a use for it, maybe stuffing for a pillow? Thanks for the chance to win.

ReplyDeleteI would love to win your crap because, as the old saying goes, one man's crap is another man's treasure. Around here, we love crap. We dream of crap. Hey, we cherish crap. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI would like to win your half-assed crappy giveaway because I'm still new at sewing and am just building up my stash. I promise that whatever I don't use, I will pay it forward and give them away in the future!

I love to get new fabric to make toys for kids. I work at a hospital, and I make a lot of toys. Just something to brighten their day. But I am always looking for fabric. :)

Oh I'd love to win your giveaway! I've been teaching my 5 year old to sew and she has been really dipping into my stash of fabric. This would be a way to begin her own stash or at least replenish mine!
